When criticised why he kept company of thieves, prostitues and evil-doers, Jesus Christ replied that he came to reform the evil, and as the good need no reform, he kept company with the evil. Likewise, I am fascinated by the evil because they tell me more about human nature and the human mind in a way the good do not.
