JJ day

Today 16th June 2009 is the 105th annual anniversary of JJ's Day when JJ dated his future wife Nora Barnacle. JJ immortalised that day, 16th June 1904, by making it the day during which the plot of his novel Ulysses occurs. Nora Barnacle, from Galway city, was working as a chambermaid at Finn's Hotel, Dublin when JJ befriended her. Celebrating the centenary of JJ's birthday on 2nd February 1982, the Finn's Hotel bar served beer at the original price of 1882 which was tapence a pint

Today, 16th June 2009, celebrating the occasion of JJ's Day on my part, I quote below an excerpt from one of JJ's letters to Nora his wife

In October1909, before leaving for Dublin for two months away from his wife Nora who stayed in Trieste (Italy), JJ agreed with Nora that they would exchange erotic letters which they did. In 1975, Richard Ellmann, JJ's biographer, published JJ's letters without Nora's which they seem to have totally vanished from the earth. According to present-day analysts, these letters show in JJ sexual persensity (dissidence), traces of fetishism, anality, paranoia and masochism. Following is an excerpt from one of these letters:

"I will fling you down under me on that soft belly of yours and fuck you up behind, like a hog riding a sow, glorifying in the very stink and sweat that rises from your arse ... "
