Elia Kazan about himself

Wondering sometimes if folks found my letters boring, I later, by sheer serendipity, read Elia Kazan, in a rather similar situation, commenting on himself wondering if --indeed, admitting that--his films were boring:

"You see, I'm not a very comprehensive person. I do not have very diverse tastes and I am unable to make films of very different kinds. That's all I can do, it is all I know, it is all I have. But I hope I develop, I change and I improve. But still, I can only remain myself, and perhaps, in a sense, my films are boring."
